Customers at 7-Eleven have a nice surprise today as it celebrates its 81st birthday on July 11 by offering up free Slurpees at its participating stores.

This continues what has become an annual tradition at the 7-Eleven stores, and will go on during the day and night while supplies last. You have up till 11 p.m. tonight to take advantage of the free offer.

While I understand why they can enforce it, it's too bad all the stores aren't participating in the offer. It won't hurt the national brand, but locally it creates bad will among people who would look forward to getting something for free.
