The topsy turvy Miley Cyrus seems to be having a meltdown and career confusion, as one part of the day she can talk about the importance of her relationship with God and desire to be good a role model, and the next sentence talk about wanting to do a young person's version of "Sex and the City," and have the latest risqué photos appear on the Internet; all in about a day's time.
She also talks about her devotion to wearing a purity ring, stating by that she wants to wait until she's married to have sex.
There's nothing wrong with that, but it looks like the "Hanna Montana" double life she lives in the TV show has morphed to Miley herself.
Now of all places, British mothers are angry with Cyrus for the continuous flow of photos showing her in various compromising positions and stages of dress.
It looks like she's been let go to make her own decisions at the age of 15, and is leaning toward making all the wrong ones.
It also seems her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, has abdicated his position as a father in her life, and instead has become her buddy.
Whatever's happening, she's not getting any leadership or management from those around her. It looks like she's taken in some type of Hollywood goon to be her publicist or handler, and is teaching her to do the usual Hollywood rot. For her and the brand she says she represents, it's a disaster. It's not who she says she is. Her words and actions are starting to separate into two different things, and it's beginning to hurt her as a brand; and as a person.

Who's the real Miley Cyrus?
I've worked with celebrities in the past, and those who give them career advice: it's not pretty, and usually way out there.
What's happening to Miley is she's being trained that she's leaving her tween audience and moving on to a teen audience now. So what does that have to do with selling yourself out? Nothing. You don't have to becom whorish and out of character to build a strong career.
You'd be surprised though at how many people in the industry do just that; especially because of the standards Miley has said she aspires to.
I hope she gets some people around her that actually care for her and aren't afraid to rein her in and decide what it is she represents. Getting the types of pictures of her online that she is, isn't what makes young people migrate to your TV or movie character, or you music. That's just someone who looks the world from one viewpoint, and attempts to recreate it in their image.
The fact that those around her aren't seeing that happen isn't good news for her, and I'm doubtful as to what's going to happen to her if someone doesn't step in and help her get her life and career back.
At this time she is portraying herself as two different people and brands, and it looks like someone behind the scenes is guiding her that way. She needs to step back and evaluate what she wants to become and where she wants to go before the decision is entirely taken away from her, and she just becomes another Paris Hilton, Britney Spears or Lindsay Lohan.
Look at what they are, what they represent, and where their so-called careers have ended. All that and they're still very young women.
If she doesn't, it looks like nobody else will, as it seems she's simply being let by the former support system around her, and is being allowed to make decisions nobody at her age, in this industry, is able to make.

Who's the real Miley Cyrus? Hopefully not one of these burnouts!
Miley Cyrus will either become a great turnaround story, or another casualty of an uncaring, destructive industry.
