Now you can find out if your favorite Starbucks' destination is among those being closed, as Starbucks (Nasdaq: SBUX) released its list of stores today it is going to shutter up. Beginning this month, 50 of the 616 stores will be closed.
Some of the states which will experience the most closures will be New York, California, Texas and Florida.
For cities, Las Vegas leads the way for the most stores disappearing, with 13 stores closing down. In their home base of Seattle, the store is shutting down 7 stores.
Starbucks announced at the beginning of July that they would close the stores, as well as layoff up to 12,000 workers.
I've wondered for some time why Starbucks was focusing on adding music to their stores when they had many more fundamental problems to focus on, like customer satisfaction and a perceived drop in quality of their products. That, overbuilding, and competition from McDonalds (NYSE: MCD) and others had brought about this result.
