To me, the response by the usual radical liberal media outlets to anything that may put Barak Hussein Obama in a negative light, reveals to me that they're running more scared than I have thought, and there are some real issues taking hold concerning him.
A cartoon in the upcoming New Yorker, not exactly a bastion of Republican thought, shows Obama and his wife depicted in a way they perceive them to be portrayed by some of their political opponents.
It has Obama wearing a turbin, and his wife Michelle toting a gun on her back as they fist-pump each other.
Why is this different than other political satire? It isn't. It's because it's been done to the media darling Obama that it is suddenly off limits, and as Obama says, "tasteless and offensive."
How come Obama isn't so concerned about the outrageous satire targeted toward his opponents?
Obama's spokesman Bill Burton said in a statement: “The New Yorker may think, as one of their staff explained to us, that their cover is a satirical lampoon of the caricature Sen. Obama's right-wing critics have tried to create. But most readers will see it as tasteless and offensive. And we agree."
To me, Obama should have taken the higher ground, laughed it off, and went on with important things. Now that he and his cronies have ramped up their attack machine, what could have been a very small thing, is now being turned into exactly what they didn't want: people questioning who Obama really is.
Have people already forgotten some of the rhetoric by those in the Obama campaign used against Hillary Clinton?
If Obama and his followers are this thin-skinned, what's going to happen when real challenges arise?
Those are the kinds of questions people will ask over this innocuous satire.
What this really is is an attempt to manipulate and rein in the media that may question anything about Barak Obama, even if, as in this case, it really was the opposite.
What the one-side mainstream media are doing is sending a message to anyone that would dare touch their chosen candidate. They're not even trying to put on a show of balance anymore. It's either Obama or nothing, and you better not say one negative thing about him.
In my view he's the worse for it. He needs some tough challenges from a supposed free press, which can help bring checks and balances to him; or any candidate. To coddle and baby him does nothing to toughen him up and accurately portray what he stands for.
This just shows how skewed and irrelevant his sycophants have become. Even followers of President Bush have strongly challenged him on a number of key issues. Obama needs the same thing.
This doesn't do anything to help his campaign, other than reveal he and his followers are overly sensitive and more than aware that it is a serious issue to a number of Americans.
