Is this what the Democrats will bring us if Americans vote them into power? Rep. Maxine Waters threatened oil company leaders with transferring management of the industry from them to the government. What a wacko.

Here's what she said at the recent hearing:

“And guess what this member would be all about? This member would be all about socializing — er, uh. [Pauses for several moments] …. would be about … [pause] … basically … taking over, and the government running all of your companies.”

While Waters didn't know how to say the word "nationalization," that's what socializing means. People behind her were even laughing over her inability to say it correctly.

Anyway, that's the kind of idiocy we have to look forward to in the years ahead under a Democratic leadership. They'll have the nation running the oil industry the way they encourage economics. Americans overall don't save, and live off of debt. The oil industry would be run the same way. Don't fill reserves (don't save), rather, release it all to the public under the guise of lowering prices.

What this is all about is the low view of the public toward Congress at this time, and they're scrambling to divert attention away from their failed policies in order for their horrid approval ratings to be dismissed from public consciousness.

It doesn't bother many of them to sell out the public in order to attempt to get a short term increase in their approval ratings.

Never mind that nationalization destroys industry, as proven by the failure of socialism.

One other reason for these types of assertions and actions from politicians, it underscores the limitations of government, and that is another thing politicians on both sides of the aisle don't want to get out to their constituents. They don't want people to start to understand that government isn't able to deal with a lot of issues, while capitalism can.

This is why there's various divisions of labor and institutions within society, because they each have their respective funtions and places to operate in. Business isn't one of them that qualify for government management; it isn't able to run them.
