An amazing story is emerging concerning gold that is capturing the imaginations of people everywhere. The high price of gold is resulting in another gold rush in California that has people quitting their jobs to become full-time prospectors, as well as an increased commercial interest for mining claims.
Commercial claims alone have surged from only 132 in 2005, to an astounding 2,274 today.
Another interesting side effect, has been the explosion in prospecting equipment to prospecting hopefuls.
That's particulary interesting to me because so many business motivational speakers and trainers have used the example of those selling the picks and shovels of the 19th century mining days as the way to make money; meaning the suppliers of tools are the ones positioned for the best business success.
To see the re-emergence of a gold rush in California is something that hasn't crossed anybody's mind or imagination.
If the price of gold continues to rise over a long period of time, we'll probably see the emergence of shanty towns and some rising crime rates as people fight to protect their sources.
We'll also hear of those who hit some big finds, and all the resultant activities and tales that follow this type of event. It'll be a fascinating story to follow as it gains more and more steam.
