St. Patricks Day may be one of the more fun that can be used to bring relieve from the stress of the office and work; especially in these times where most the business news has been negative of late.
Of course one day doesn't make a fun workplace, and we should think of things to do at work for our people that provides outlets for the stress build-up that inevitably comes.
Better yet, give this to your employees to come up with ideas, so they can even take ownership in this area. We do have to watch this though, as there are always those fringe people that can go too far.
Still, to encourage our people to come up with ideas to celebrate and have fun at work, it a great way to blow of steam, and keep things from becoming too serious.
We don't need to wait for a St. Patrick's Day to make this part of the life of our businesses, as we can take the spirt of that up and make it part of our business culture.
Almost every company that has something like this as part of their culture seems to have an edge they get. It may not be measurable, but the performance of the company over time will prove it a smart way to run a business.
