Margaret Thatcher Hospitalized Overnight in London

One of the great leaders of the 20th century, former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, was rushed to the hospital after becoming ill last night.

Thatcher, who is 82, is said to be in "stable" condition, according to a St. Thomas Hospital spokeswoman.

After a number of small strokes in 1982, Thatcher still has been seen at public functions fairly frequently, even after being admonished by doctors to stop her busy speaking schedule. She last appeared at a function last week, where a bust of herself was unveiled at the Conservative Party headquarters in London.

Dubbed the "Iron Lady" by leaders of the Soviet Union during the cold war, Thatcher wore the moniker as a badge of honor.

Thatcher helped pull Britain out of a long, deep sleep, where their socialist tendencies were destroying the health of the country.

She advocated personal responsibility, free-market economics and helped to tear down the class system Britain was known for.

The IRA attempted to assassinate her in 1984 by means of a bomb attack at the Conservative Party annual conference, where they almost accomplished their mission. Five people were killed, although Thatcher and her cabinet obviously got away without serious injury.

Her good friend, the late U.S. President Ronald Reagan, along with Thatcher, were primarily responsible for helping to end the cold war.

Concerning her current illness, a statement from the hospital said:  “We can confirm that Baroness Thatcher has been admitted to St Thomas’ Hospital and is expected to remain in hospital overnight for observation."

Baroness Thatcher is a great, Christian lady whose name is sopken of approvingly wherever liberty is loved, and who is cursed by enemies of freedom everywhere. Her leadership made a strong impression on me. Even her book 'Statecraft : Strategies for a Changing World' made me feel her strong leadership: http://dealstudio.com/searchdeals.php/deal_id=89457&ru=279 , I hope she will recover soon, and pray that we will be blessed with more insights from the mind of Thatcher.
