Wal-Mart has landed a deal with Disney (NYSE:DIS) to offer "Hannah Montana" merchandise across its stores.
Hannah Montana is the extraordinarily popular show which stars Miley Cyrus, who plays the role of a typical girl in the day, and becomes a rock star by night. It gets powerhouse ratings, and the character has turned Miley into a real singing superstar in her own right.
A ket strategy for the partnership, will be to "market the merchandise is through opening what they are calling 'Hannah Montana Shops,' in 750 stores, which will include numerous accessories and clothes."
There will be over 140 products included in the merchandising effort, and will be across a number or product categories; everything from Hannah-like wigs, to food and clothing.
Merchandise will be available in Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) stores sometime this week, and the company said they're already going to start slashing prices by 10 percent to 30 percent from the start.
