A new business magazine called "Corporate Leader" conducted a poll for their debut issue on the best CEOs in America. After polling thousands of finance and investor pros, Steve Jobs was named the best CEO in the country.
Jobs was of course named for his innovative role he plays with Apple (AAPL).
The results of the poll will be revealed in the debut issue of the magazine, which includes the top 100 CEOs in the country.
Concerning Jobs as the top pick, Robert Esecson, a senior managing director at investment bank Strategic Financial Group, said, "Jobs is a true visionary. He consistently thinks outside the box and fosters creativity within the entire company."
Rounding out the top five picks in the poll are Eric Schmidt of Google (GOOG); Lloyd Blankfein from Goldman Sachs (GS); James McNerney of Boeing (BA); and Frederick Smith of FedEx (FDX).
The top qualification respondents considered was nothing other than good, old "performance."
When asked about the most admired former CEOs, unsurprisingly, Jack Welch finished at the top.
