Julie Roehm, the disgraced Wal-Mart (WMT) executive fired for inappropriate behavior and accepting of gifts from companies competing for Wal-Mart's advertising business, has dropped her lawsuit, acknowledging some allegations she made weren't accurate.
Roehm was fired after information was discovered that led to believe she was using company-paid travel to have an affair with a employee under her leadership, along with accepting meals and gifts from companies.
In an attempt to retaliate, Roehm through out allegations that Wal-Mart CEO Lee Scott received yachts and a diamond at preferential prices from Irwin Jacobs, a businessman from Minnesota. That caused Jacobs to file a defamation suit against Roehm.
Roehm made a statement Friday saying she's dropping the case because of finances, but in reality it's because the cases were turning against her, as information provided showed she made inaccurate statements, especially with the Lee Scott and Irwin Jacobs situation.
Irwin Jacobs will release a statement on Monday saying, "I am pleased Julie Roehm has finally come to her senses ... and has publicly admitted she was wrong. I feel totally vindicated."
Wal-Mart has also agreed to drop their countersuit against Roehm, saying "We are satisfied with the resolution and are ready to put this behind us and move on."
I'm glad Wal-Mart never settle with this, as it didn't smell right from the beginning.

Bottom line...
Roehm was bullied by Wal-Mart. The tactics they used to build their case and deliberately embarrass her were disgusting.
Seems like you are "cheering" for them. Go Goliath!
