The 73-year-old Olson assured everyone it wasn't related to health matters in any way.
Olson said concerning the circumstances: "For the past 25 years, I have always given 110 percent to the team and this job. In light of this personal matter, I feel it is in the best interest of the team and the University of Arizona to take a leave of absence."
Over a 34-year career as a college basketball coach, Olson has racked up a 780-280 record. For his 24-year tenure at Arizona he has a 589-187 record, along with 23 straight NCAA tournament appearances.
