Mary Kay Ash: She Never Wavered - 80

"It is far better to be exhausted from success than to be rested from failure."

Mary Kay was talking about the difference between those who succeed and those who fail, when making the statement above, and those willing to go the extra mile. It was at that point she mentioned it's better to be exhausted from success then rested from failure.

Many people who haven't succeeded with their personal and business goals, sometimes think statements like this are too simplified, and really don't relate to their circumstances. In reality it is just about everything to success.

The thing that must be made sure of, is that we are working on the right things; otherwise we'll work hard and not make much headway because we're not focusing on that which will bring us success.

Many of those that give up read or hear similar things, and start not to believe them because they either are working hard on the wrong things, or aren't willing to adapt as they go. In other words, they have the right attitude and work ethic, but the wrong project or process.

We become caught in a maze when this happens, with no real way out.

This is the time we must step back an look objectively at what's going on around us. What is it that is getting us stuck? Why isn't hard work making it happen? Why are we going around in circles? What can I do to break out of this?

Questions like those will help us brainstorm for answers. Most of the time the reason we can fail at this point is we fall in love with the familiar; we get stuck in a rut that has made us comfortable, but inefficient. We like having a process and system, but inwardly resist adapting and changing it in response to changes in the marketplace.

Patiently working hard never fails if we are working on the right things and are willing to adapt to changes in the marketplace. Giving up usually happens if we fail to recognize that this is the place we're at in our businesses or divisions in the company.
