By late 1990, the Cold War was over and free markets and institutions vindicated.
Margaret Thatcher played a big role in the end of the cold war, along with ally and close friend, U.S. President Ronald Reagan.
An amazing thing concerning all this is even though free markets and capitalism was totally vindicated, our universities across the world still are inhabited by socialist professors that continue to teach students socialist theories as if the cold war hadn't ended and free markets and capitalism hadn't prevailed.
Many politicians still try to pummel their people with these teachings and socialist ideas to make an excuse for their existence and further big government. They also of course continue to offer socialists programs to aid people to keep them reliant on government money in order to get reelected.
Even though Thatcher helped lead the way into freeing up the British economy and breaking outrageous union control, those days are still trying to be presented as a failure. It doesn't take too long for people to forget, and media agencies to socialize them into believing their propaganda.
We are in a long-term battle to show the great value and importance of business to the world. More than anything else economically, that is the source where people will improve their lives and better themselves financially.
The idea that government programs will make a difference is the same old argument proven wrong by Thatcher, as she revealed less government and more free markets are the way to make a nation economically healthy and people better off. Getting people addicted to the government handouts has done more to hurt them than almost anything else from the financial side of things.
Thatcher was ahead of the times, as she saw the vital importance of the place business and business leadership had to make a difference in bettering the world. We are in a constant battle against those trying to drag us back to the socialist ways of the past.
