The discovery that it's Boss's Day today, made me wonder if it's a day us business leaders look forward to, or are even aware of.
I think it's a good time to pause and examine how our people view us as a boss.
That of course doesn't mean everyone will like us, but there should be a respect of some type and appreciation for our relationship with our people and taking care of them.
All relationships, both professional and personal have to be worked on, but there should be a healthy openness, integrity and honesty in them if we want them to succeed.
In a business, leadership needs to looked upon as an asset by workers and willing to stick up for their people, while doing everything they can to bring them success.
If we stay in constant communication with our people, always tell the truth, praise them, encourage them and stick by them in tough times, we'll find that not only Boss's Day will be a positive experience for us, but every day will be a true Boss's Day for them, as they daily appreciate your service and help.
