Rupert Murdoch began his assault on CNBC especially, a while back, hinting his new Fox Business Network would be more "business friendly."
Murdoch continued his differentiation tactics, saying "CNBC dwells too much on failures, politics." In contrast he says the Fox Business Network will target stories about success, innovation and things that make money.
To get around the Dow Jones (DJ) agreement with CNBC (GE) to share content through its Wall Street Journal property, Murdoch said they'll focus on things like national news, travel and lifestyle stories for the new business network, along with a smattering of politics.
Murdoch added at dig at his competitor saying, ``CNBC is a cable channel for Wall Street. It's done nothing for 10 years."
If News Corp. (NWS-A) does what Murdoch says with the new Fox Business Network, it will be an interesting channel to watch. There is far too much business-bashing going on, without the tremendous value business adds to the nation and the world being reported as well.
The new business network will launch next month.
