Forbes' annual "100 Most Powerful Women" list had PepsiCo CEO Indra K. Nooyi listed in the number five position, and the top female executive on the list. In February 2007, Nooyi also became chairman of the company.
Nooyi, who was born in Southern India, came to PepsiCo (PEP) in 1994, while working at Boston Consulting Group and Motorola before being hired by PepsiCo.
One of her major goals has been to move the company beyond reliance on soda. Her first effort was starting fast food chains for the company in 1997. She also added Tropicana to the product mix by leading the move to acquire the company.
With consumers flocking to water and water-based drinks, Nooyi has also encouraged development of water drinks with energy and vitamins added to them.
PepsiCo has annual revenues of $35 billion and a market capitalization of almost $110 billion.
