About to launch a $300 million marketing campaign for its Web-based printing services, Hewlett-Packard (HPQ) announced its landed Walt Disney Co (DIS) executive Michael Mendenhall to lead its marketing division.
Mendenhall ran the marketing for Disney's theme parks and resorts unit worldwide. His title with Hewlett-Packard will be chief marketing officer and senior vice president.
HP has been on a roll lately, and obviously wants to build up its online printing services, as this move shows.
Not content with its personal printer success, the company also is now the top maker of computers as well, taking that spot from Dell (DELL).
If they can get their online strategy going stronger, they'll have things going on all cylinders going ahead.
Mendenhall will start with HP on October 1.
