On the heels of setting up a $2 million fund to help the family find their daughter Madeleine McCann, Richard Branson has now pledged another $200,000 to help the McCanns clear their name. Branson, the chairman of Virgin Group, said he is also contacting other wealthy British to contribute to the fund.
A Fox News report quoted a Branson spokesman saying, "If he can help a little bit to take the burden off the family and extended family in this small way, then that's all to the good."
Branson decided to do this when he heard the McCann family say they wouldn't touch the original money in the "Find Madeleine" fund to fund their legal expenses.
A British government laboratory had forensics test results come back that said Madeleine's DNA had been found in the trunk of a rental car.
The family said on Saturday they're about to mount a $160,000 advertising campaign to encourage people to continue looking for their little girl, who disappeared from a hotel room in Portugal.
