Continuing Coverage of the Dow Jones Story
Desparately trying to get back in the Democratic campaign race, John Edwards attacked his fellow Democrat presidential hopefuls by calling on them to refuse to accept donations from News Corp. (NWS-A).
Edwards said, "The time has come for Democrats to stop pretending to be friends with the very people who demonize the Democratic Party."
This was mostly a swipe at Hillary Clinton who has received contributions of $4,600 each from News Corp. COO Peter Chernin and executive vice president of corporate affairs, Gary Ginsberg.
Rupert Murdoch's son James Murdoch has also contributed to the Clinton campaign with a donation of $3,450. Last year even Rupert helped Clinton with a fund raiser, raising some questions on what he really believes in.
Concerning the News Corp. acquisition of Dow Jones & Co. (DJ), Edwards added that "News Corp.'s purchase of the Dow Jones Co. and the Wall Street Journal should be the last straw when it comes to media consolidation."
He says its has a conservative view that and doesn't cover the Democrats fairly, something Fox has continually denied.
