
In a letter from the editor on Barrons.com web site, they announced the site now as about 102,000 paying subcribers, over the 97,000 reported by competitor Financial Times. Sister site of Barron's, The Wall Street Journal Online, enjoys almost 1 million subscribers.
Barron's was able to garner one million unique users according to their internal tracking system. A lot of that comes from the free-content area built to entice new subscribers to the pay service.
The print edition of Barron's is is also continuing to do well, as ad revenue for the print edition grew by 18.7 percent in the first half, while circulation revenue also grew. Print subscribers for Barron's has reached about 312,000.
