A Harris poll says that a huge 94 percent of Americans are satisfied with their lives. Two years ago the numbers were at 90 percent. It makes you wonder about the other polls that imply life is a disaster. You know the questions being asked are made to be answered in a way the pollsters want them to be.
As far as the Harris poll, the "satisfaction" level was defined as people who were somewhat or very satisfied with their lives at this time.
It's a good thing the media lanscape is changing and people are starting to get a more balanced view of what's really happening. Hopefully the deficient news sources in the eastern U.S. will be changed soon, as an almost unbelievable minute 42 percent said their lives had improved since 2002. In contrast to the better informed South, 60 percent said their lives had improved, and of those from the Western U.S., 62 percent said their lives had improved.
Either way, when 94 percent are satisfied with their lives, it makes you wonder about the reporting of the media which attempts to make it look like we're always one step away from another "dust bowl."
