Continuing Coverage of the Dow Jones Story
John Edwards recently castigated his fellow Democrats concerning the acquisition of Dow Jones & Co. (DJ) by News Corp. and receiving campaign contributions from people working in the company.
Edwards said: "The time has come for Democrats to stop pretending to be friends with the very people who demonize the Democratic Party."
Most of that was leveled at his competitor Hillary Clinton, who has received over $20,000 in contributions from those working for News Corp (NWS-A). He said that all candidates should return contributions to those that had given them.
He also asked fellow Democrats to oppose the Dow Jones' deal with News Corp. by fighting to keep it from going through, based on nothing other than his view that it isn't as politically liberal as he wants it to be.
The story on this today is Edwards' hypocrisy, as it was found out he's getting a lot more from News Corp. than anyone else is by his book being distributed through News Corp. company HarperCollins, which he has received a minimum of $800,000 for to this date.
According to the Edwards campaign, he won't be returning the large sum of money he received for "Home: The Blueprints of Our Lives" to News Corp.
Edwards looks pretty ignorant in this event, as he partakes in making huge profits from News Corp., while calling on his fellow Democrats to return donated campaign contributions.
Edwards also had pressured the rest of the Democratic field to not partake in the presidential debate which had been co-sponsored by Fox, something they may pay for later on in the race, as it's made them look weak.
The words and actions of Edwards show he's grasping at straws, as he's lodged in third place in the Democrat field of presidential hopefuls.
