In April a "leaked" memo from Michael Dell insinuated that the company would be looking at new channels to sell its computers through, which would include retail.
Now in a big move, Dell (DELL) announced it will be partnering with Wal-Mart (WMT) to offer two if its Dimension desktop computers through the retail giant.
"This is the first step in what is an evolving retail strategy," said Dwayne Cox, a spokesman for Dell. "It is not our entire retail strategy."
Cox added that the decision to go with Wal-mart was a no-brainer as approximately 90 percent of American households shop there. The company believes they will reach new customers that they aren't able to now with their direct response sales model.
