"Integrity is the ingredient that will enable you to forge rapidly ahead on the highway that leads to success."
Mary Kay talks about an excellent attribute that obviously needs to be part of all business leaders. Many times integrity will be challenged in a number of circumstances because of pressure to perform or time limitations. But interestingly enough, Mary Kay felt that integrity itself would move you far faster than anything else.
But let's look a little closer at integrity. Integrity has to do with motives, honesty and sincerity. It's connected to having the heart to do what's right.
There's another side to integrity though, and that's the integrity of coming through with what you promise.
Mary Kay said it this way, finishing her comment above: "It advertises you as being an individual who will always come through. Whatever you say you will do, do it even if you have to move heaven and earth."
That's the result and fruit of integrity: doing anything to make what sure that you say you will do. Good intentions from a right heart are one thing, coming through and producing those intentions are quite another. Integrity embraces both. It germinates with intentions and ends with measurable results.
The key to integrity is that if you really mean what you say, then you will find a way. Those that live this will truly move ahead in anything that they're attempting to accomplish and will understand the full meaning of integrity.
