
I found it very intesting in this coaching video that of those that were leaders in various professions, none of them really considered coaching as being over somebody in the sense of intellectually imparting information, rather it comes from taking a genuine interest in the people they were involved in.
One major idea that came forth from the various professionals was that it always involved a relationship between those coaching and those receiving.
Some of the things espoused were that coaching really has to do with an attitude, rather than details. It's the creating of trust and having a clear vision.
Like anything else, those coaching must be willing to impart everything they have to make a person or team better, without the fear of losing something in the process.
Herb Kelleher talks about in it that coaching must come from the heart and not the head or it won't be effective at all.
Others talked about making the job easier for those you're coaching and taking time to make sure those we're coaching succeed.
