When we take a deep look into Sam Walton and what he accomplished through Wal-Mart (WMT), it goes far beyond low costs and low prices, as important as that is to consumers around the world.
What Sam Walton and Wal-Mart has done throughout many parts of the world, is to literally help to lower inflation beyond anything that maybe has happened historically. For those that understand what that means, it's mindboggling. It's not the size of the company alone that does this, but the efficiencies inherent in the 
overall way the company is run that has produced these results.
Not only have retail competitors had to learn better ways of doing business, but manufactures and distributors have had to as well. The productivity gains in manufacturing, along with retailing, have been unprecedented.
What's even more amazing is the simplicity with which he did it, as far as the purpose of the business goes, and the way that he could maintain focus without being sidetracked.
The more we dig into these great business leaders, the more we learn that it's not complexity and chaos that really make them great at what they do, but simplicity of purpose, staying on course, tremendous focus and determination to make it happen.
Traits that may be invisible to the eye, but made visible through the dreamers that see what they want before it ever arrives.
