The Extraordinary Charisma of Sam Walton
Sam Walton may have seemed like a laid back country boy, and he was, but that didn't mean he didn't know how to motivate his people - he did.
When Walton made it on the media map by being discovered as the wealthiest man in the world, it was found that much of it came about from his ability to motivate those that worked for him.
The conversations that came from Wal-Mart (WMT) workers revealed that he made them believers in what they could accomplish and where they could take the store to. He convinced them of it and the rest is history. The associates responded and believed in Walton and what he told them, and not only brought the company to a high level, but themselves as well.
The largely untold story, is the fantastic ride that Wal-Mart workers took with Walton and Wal-Mart, as they rode the growth of the company to achieve wealth through their ownership of stock in the company.
What is amazing about all of this is that it was done through the charisma of a man that truly believed in his vision and the people that worked with him that could bring it about. He wasn't disappointed. When we can get our people to come together and believe in what we're doing, there isn't anything that can't be achieved.
