Richard Branson - Lessons in Business, Management and Life - 72

I Believe in all My Companies 100%

One of the secrets that Richard Branson has that makes his seemingly endless wanderings continue, is his belief in the companies he has created.

He said: "Ive had to create companies that I believe in 100%. These are companies I feel will make a genuine difference. Then I have to be willing to find the time myself to talk about them, promote them and market them. I dont want to spend my life doing something that Im not proud of."

When you think that he owns somewhere around 350 companies, it's an extraordinary comment to make. I think he not only believes and lives it, but that Richard%20Branson%20Believes%20in%20all%20his%20companies.jpghe's aware overall of what's happening in those companies on a consistent basis.

It seems that his battle with dyslexia has caused him to compensate with a tremendous discipline to focus. The result has been that he has diaries meticulously written since the age of 16 that talks about every idea, deal and negotiations in business that he has done.

The stories of his companies are all written in there as well. He writes daily about the various and numerous activities going on all around him that he's involved in.

He's able to believe in the companies, because he decides what he wants before he ever pursues them. He is able to remember to believe, because he's made it his habit to write daily about everything going on within them.

When you think of this, it is a real testimony to his true belief in the companies. After all, who would write every day about something that they had no passion or belief in? It's another key to the success that Branson enjoys, and why he enjoys his life so much.
