Branson's Mastermind Group
We've talked a little about Branson's hunger and love of learning concerning things he knows little about, and then sometimes starting companies from that searching out of knowledge.
Now another thing that Branson loves is people; one of the reasons he insists upon his managers being people that care about people.
With his business expansion and innovative ideas, a lot of this comes from within the company. He mentions that people from all over the scattered companies are always coming up with great ideas for new businesses, or improvements in existing
businesses, that he taps into all the time.
It's interesting when he's been asked in the past of why he starts so many disparate companies, his answer is that he hates to say no all the time to his people. He also hates to say no specifically to people he likes, when they offer their ideas an input.
The Virgin Web site itself encourages people to offer the company new ideas that could potentially be turned into businesses.
In a sense, Branson's mastermind group, has become the world. He goes beyond his managers to embrace any employee with a good, feasible idea. He goes beyond his company and people to reach out to anyone that has a great idea that can be turned into a company.
There's that sense again of his really caring about people and their ideas, and empowering them both to reach success that neither could have reached on their own.
