Why Richard Branson Makes it Look Easy
One of the things that are mentioned about people who are great at what they do is that they make it look easy. Richard Branson has that unique quality about him. His boyish good looks and his ability to always put on some showmanship at the drop of a hat, makes him look buffoonish to some people that misunderstand who he is.
If someone is making something look easy, it's not because of genius or inborn ability, it's because of tremendous practice and focus. That's one of the underestimated qualities that Richard Branson has.
Not only does he present himself around the world as somewhat of a clown, I think that it may even be part of his strategy to keep his opponents and competitors off guard. Sometimes when you see what he does, it's hard to take him as a serious businessman. Many have concluded that to their sorrow. He's anything but that.
When you see his ability to make it look easy though, behind it there has to be the focus and the ability to stick to something underneath it all. You don't become good enough at something to make it look easy unless you live, breathe and practice it. Branson shows that he does this whether it is seen by people or not.
I remember someone else saying one time considering a project that they had been working on for years saying, "I live and breathe what I'm doing." That's the commitment that Branson has to the Virgin brand and company and why it has such a high level of success, while he makes it look easy.
