Another Way He Gets into Businesses

We've talked about how Richard Branson will tap into people everywhere to come up with creative ideas that will turn into profitable businesses.

Here's one that for him personally is the key indicator. When he simply goes about his daily living and continuously uses a specific product or service of a business, and he begins to hate the experience he's having with it, he knows that there is an opportunity there to swoop in and successfully compete against that specific company.

Opening%20Business%20Doors.jpgThat's how he says he decided to originally compete against airlines because he would always fly and he'd hate the experience every time he did it with them. That's when he decided to create Virgin Atlantic Airways. He wanted to create a flying experience that everybody would love to be part of.

I think what he has here is his knowledge of business and service, and genuine concern for people, allows him to spot things that people don't like because he has become, in himself, a way to measure successful and satisfying experiences.

So by just going about his everyday life and the various contacts he has, opens up possibilities to him all the time because of his innate ability to measure a business based upon his personal response to it.

In other words, he's almost like a walking market study that he's able to tap into time and time again to find opportunities to take advantage of.
