Six Apart has announced that it is introducing a new blogging product in the United States, that is designed for enterprise use.
Calling it Movable Type Enterprise, it is expected to be a great way for companies to get a hold on internal communications and sharing of knowledge.
They are offering it at a price that could move companies to replace the current tools they use for internal communications pruposes. The low end licenses are offered for $4,000 with the additional option of $2,000 a year for customer support. Included with the fee will be the inclusion of product updates and a (guaranteed?) two-hour response time concerning any questions.
CIO says: "The software includes support for lightweight directory access protocol (LDAP) authentication, Oracle 10g database support, user interface customization, and feeds that notify administrators and authors of blog activity."
