In living all over the U.S., I have come across tons of ideas that businesses use to enhance their operations. One of the best I've seen for retail stores is regard to shopping carts.
I've worked with companies that use the bare minimum of workers to get the job done. One of the things that messes up the model is parking lot maintenance; especially dealing with shopping carts.
The thing that I found worked the greatest in this area was a company that used a money system with its customers. How it worked was that you had to put a quarter in to be able to pull the cart out from the other carts. To get your quarter back, you had to put the cart back into the next cart waiting before you could retrieve the quarter. It's amazing how many customers won't depart with a quarter. In other words it really works!
Every time I've been to that store, there is at most one shopping cart in the parking lot. When you think of the benefit of this, I'm surprised that more companies don't do this. The amount of time it saves for employees who can do much more inside the store that needs to be done, along with no more damaged being done to cars from loose shopping carts banging into cars on windy days, makes this a winner.Sponsored link: The outsourcing every manager requires - Tampa Locksmith
