Every once in a while on any job, no matter how much you like it, you can begin to get that feeling of burnout, or not being able to draw any deeper within, and you feel tired. You even begin to feel that it is the job itself.
The thought comes that if you could be doing something other than this job, it will make a difference. Then we begin to think about doing other work or getting out on a vacation as soon as possible. Eventually it doesn't do you any good and you retain that same sense of weariness.
The best thing to do during these times is to ignore how you feel. Most of the time it is just one of those feeling sorry for yourself moments that go away after you just get through the day.
Occasionally though, this attitude lingers and you need to take a few proactive steps to deal with it.
Here are several steps to help you defeat your funk and get your heart back into things:
1. Remember that the problem isn't the job, but your attitude.
2. Work at something in the job and try to do it better than you have before.
3. Remind yourself of some of the things you really like about the job.
4. Take a short nap or walk
5. Do something nice for someone else to get your mind off of yourself.
Try this things as they work great to help you get out of that occasional discouragement that keeps weighing on you from time to time.
