A long time ago I listened as an experience man in his field talked about success in that specific area. The simple words and phrase he used changed my entire life in its various segments and interests. He made the simple comment that when all is said and done "doing it is doing it!"
I like a quick comment that B.L. Ochman makes on her blog concerning giving away information and that it is the execution of ideas that matter.
She says, "One of the questions I am often asked when I speak about corporate blogging is whether it is dangerous to give away so much informaton. My answer is "absolutely not." Ideas, without the right people to execute them, mean nothing.
"The more information I have given away, the more great opportunity has come to me."
This is great to me.
One great example of this to me is Southwest Airlines. Who hasn't pretty much heard everything about how they do it? Yet it seems that it's not able to be reproduced by their competitors.
Or you could include Wal-Mart and their supply chain that has been one of the great reasons for its success. All their competitors know its background, technology and delivery system and yet they don't or aren't able to implement it.
Now I find this interesting, don't you? Do any of you have thoughts on why you think things that seem so simple and easy to understand are so difficult to put into practice?
