At this conference he said:

"tomorrow's never promised."

By any measurement you can use, Kirby Puckett was a great inspirational leader. 

Of course the fact that I am originally from Minnesota may cause me to be a little biased. Still, he had qualities that everyone could learn to be better leaders and managers.

Kevin Stirtz, a fellow Minnesotan had this to say:

"He was a leader in every sense of the word. The stories about his clubhouse presence are the stuff of baseball legend.”

"Stats can't measure his impact — best clubhouse presence I have ever seen, the superstar who never acted the part and embraced everyone from bat boys to the manager and coaches."

The great thing to learn from Kirby’s life is that he led by example and treated people with great respect. He never acted like a superstar but interacted with everyone like they were the same.

Most of us would have wanted him to be our manager and friend.
